NTTC PDF HELP PAGE

PDF stands for Portable Document File. Depending on your browser configuration, clicking on a .PDF  link may attempt to open the PDF files in your browser window. If the files are large it may take a long time to open it (depending on your connection). In this case you may want to download the file to your computer rather than viewing in your browser. To download a file either right-click (Windows) or click-and-hold (Mac) on the link to the PDF file. Then select "Save Target as..." or "Save Link as..." from the popup menu that appears. You can save a copy on your computer for off line viewing and storage.

On our site we plan to use PDF files quite a bit as they are an excellent way to share information with you. PDF files take a little getting use to but are easy to use once you are familiar with them. PDF files are different than HTML files in two ways:

  1. PDF files keep their original formatting including graphics and fonts so all users view a document that looks exactly the same. HTML files can look different on every computer.

  2. To properly view PDF files through a web Browser or to use a downloaded PDF file your a computer must have software program called Adobe Acrobat Reader. Most newer computers come with this program pre-installed. Acrobat Reader is easy to get and is completely free for download. If you do not have Acrobat,  Click Here to go to the Adobe site to download the program.
