NTTC Celebrates Industry’s Workforce during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week

This National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, the National Tank Truck Carriers, Inc. (NTTC) extends its respect and gratitude to all the professional truck drivers that make everyday life possible. We especially want to highlight the drivers in the tank truck sector. The tank truck industry plays a critical role in the North American economy and our segment’s enviable safety performance is due to the professional commitment of our drivers.

“The industry professionals that transport the gasoline that fuels our cars, the chlorine that purifies our water, the fertilizer that improves our crops, the paints that improve our homes, and even the syrup that sweetens our soft drinks are essential to American life as we know it,” said John Whittington, Senior Vice President of Grammer Industries and current NTTC Chairman. “We greatly appreciate all that they do for our country on the road, day in and day out.”

“In this time of capacity constraints across transportation, communicating our respect for professional drivers is more important than ever,” said Daniel R. Furth, President of NTTC. “Driver Appreciation Week gives us that opportunity, but it should also remind us that these hard-working professionals deserve our praise on each and every load.”

“Professional drivers are the face of the tank truck industry.  For many customers and consignees, the driver is the only company representative that they see most regularly.  We’re proud of our drivers who really serve as ambassadors for our companies and stand as examples of the highest safety performance,” said Angela Kane-Haas, CFO of Kane Transport and NTTC First Vice-Chairwoman.   “Our drivers’ commitment to safety is paramount to the success of our carriers, our customers, and the many people with whom we share the road each day.”

On behalf of the tank truck industry and its carrier members, the NTTC extends its most sincere thanks to the many professional tank truck drivers for their collective commitment to safety and service.

The National Tank Truck Carriers has represented the tank truck industry before Congress and various federal agencies since its founding in 1945.  NTTC’s mission is to champion safety and success in the tank truck community through advocacy and education.  NTTC also operates Tank Truck University, an in-house educational program designed to disseminate best practices in safety, tank truck operations, and leadership to all individuals working in the segment, including drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and management all the way to the C-suite.  NTTC’s membership is comprised of over 600 companies that specialize in bulk transportation services by cargo tank throughout North America. The tank truck industry generates roughly 6% of all truck freight revenue, but that represents 30% of all truck freight in terms of tonnage due to the heavy nature of the liquid bulk products we handle.
